Arrival on the ship

 Need to check out of the hotel at 11am. Today was the day we slept in until 9:50 am. Almost made it, packed, had breakfast, cleaned up the apartment a little all by 11:10.  The sun is shining and it is a great day to explore. The boat is about 1/2 mile from the hotel. We were going to walk but Dan said let’s take a taxi so we don’t have to bounce the bags down a flight of stairs. Makes sense too bad the taxi driver didn’t do that but dropped us off up at the top of the stairs.  Needless to say he had a bit of an attitude. 

Check in on board, cabin is ready. This is a plus so we drop our bags and head out to the market hall. This is the major market on 3 floors you can find anything from fresh vegetables and meat to souvenirs.  As well as kiosks selling prepared food.  The vendors have figured out the tourists can’t read or understand Hungarian so they have dished up their specialties and you can jut point to the dish or type of food you want.  Overall prices are much better at the market when compared to other places or stores. 

The next stop is the Szabó Ervin Library   This is a portion of the main library in downtown Budapest.  It is actually 4 or 5 interconnected rooms. The wood work in the library is amazing.   I located this little gem on a website called Atlas Obscura. This is a website recommended by daughter in law, Gina and her sister Laurie. It can locate different interesting sights within a city some you may have seen others are a little different and out of the way. This public library was a fun place.  I will try and post some photos 

Tomorrow we will be on the ship and take an overview tour in the morning and go to the Thermal baths in the afternoon
