A little time to catch up
Awoke to sun and a day to explore. We have another day on the on and off bus and time to explore the park and hear commentary about the history of the city of Budapest. Plan for today was to take a cruise along the Danube, which is part of the hop on and off bus ticket and then this evening take an evening cruise to see the lights there along the river. Lights along the Danube are impressive since all the bridges there are lit, as well as a Parliament building, the castle, animals statues and all the monuments unfortunately, as with best laid plans when you want to do a spur of the moment trip things were sold out, so we opted not to do an evening cruise along the Danube, but to do laundry
Why it takes 3 1/2 hours to do a load of laundry in Europe continues to be a mystery. But it did get done. Tomorrow we will head to the ship
One highlight has been dinner at the oldest restaurant in Pest. This was our introduction to Hungarian food. It was great the ambience wonderful even candlelight. About 30 minutes after we arrived a 5 piece band began playing 2 violins a viola, bass, and xylophone. It was great Hungarian music. Dan even bought their CD. We are happy to share with you.
By the way, there's a chance we will be going to Seattle and other places in Washington state in May; we might have to miss your dinner on May 14th, not sure yet. I believe you will see the night lights of the Budapest Parliament on your riverboat at night tomorrow night, or at least I hope so! Glad you have clean laundry to start your cruise ship experience! Love to you! How was the Hungarian food? Love to you two in Europe! From pearl, ruby, bob and foxy in Carlsbad, CA!
